The thing that sucks about travel photography is that sometimes there are days like these.
Before going to LA in May I totally researched where to get the best unobstructed view of downtown. All the answers included the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area as a suggestion. So I planned a trip to the area on the drive back to LA from San Diego. Such is the nature of travel photography, you gotta fit it in somewhere. Unfortunately there was a two hour window where it could work. Even more unfortunate was that this two hour window was on a day where massive fires in Santa Barbara sent smoke all over Los Angeles and it was on a day where there had not been rain for two weeks.
So I ended up with bugger all visibility and hours of wasted research. But I am pretty pleased with what I have been able to rescue from the disasterous day at Kenny Hahn Park.
